Apple did not rush into foldables. The iPhone Duo arrives years after the category became established, which gives it very little room to blame first-generation problems on being early. Its answer is tightly integrated hardware and software: two displays with the same aspect ratio, a custom hinge, dual batteries and an iOS interface rebuilt around the fold.
