Sonos Ace Ultra finally behaves like a true part of the Sonos system
The original Sonos Ace was a curious product: a Sonos-branded pair of headphones that spent much of its time operating outside the Sonos system. Ace Ultra tackles that contradiction directly. Headphone Linking lets it join the home system over Wi-Fi, grab whatever is playing and hand it back with another button press.

Sonos Ace Ultra lasts 35 hours with ANC, but its best upgrade costs $25: a replaceable battery
Sonos could have sold Ace Ultra like any other premium headphone update: stronger noise cancellation, new drivers and a few more hours of battery life. Its most interesting feature is hidden behind screws. When the battery eventually degrades, Sonos will sell owners the replacement part directly. On a $449 product someone may reasonably want to keep for five or six years, that can matter more than another audio mode.
